The choice of one’s personal lawyer should be well considered and may take some time. Apart from personal recommendations by family and friends, victim support organisations can put persons affected into contact with lawyers.

In addition, the nationwide official directory of lawyers is a helpful source of information. It lists all lawyers admitted to practice in Germany and especially also allows users to search for lawyers specialising in criminal law.

But there are also many other search options online. For instance, the German Lawyer´s Association offers a directory of all its member lawyers.
