In addition to the support provided by governmental institutions, there may be other possibilities for obtaining financial support. Financial help can be provided in the form of donations secured or directly paid out by victim support organisations, such as the WEISSER RING e.V.

In many cases, persons affected by a criminal offence may also obtain financial help from victim support organisations, for example for travel expenses, damaged objects or recreational activities. Some Länder have established special foundations to provide financial support to persons affected by crime. The victim support organisations and the Länder foundations can provide further information about the scope and conditions of such support.
